As the temperatures keep going down, the cooler weather loving crops are really starting to thrive out in the field. This week’s CSA shares reflect that quite a bit! We’ll have:
Cabbage
Butterhead lettuce
Kale / Collards / Radicchio
Scallions
Delicata Squash
Acorn Squash
&
Sweet Potatoes
The radicchio might be something new to try for a few of our CSA members. Radicchio can be labeled as a “bitter green” , but does have a sweetness to it. We’ll have it on the CSA tables with the Kale and the Collard Greens where we’ll let you decide if you’d like to try it or not. We should have enough planted for more then 1 week if you need some time to think about it!
We’ll also have some really nice heads of cabbage and butterhead lettuce for everyone which will give you something familiar to reach for in the fridge this week as well 😉
And we’ll be rolling out one of the last varieties of our winter squash for the 2021 season. This week to go along with the very popular Delicata squash, the Acorn squash will also be in the CSA shares. That will leave us with just the pie pumpkins left to try out!
